June 29, Mann’s Pond

Needed some green therapy, so Dan and I headed to Mann’s Pond on Billings St. in Sharon. When Josh was in 4th grade at Cottage, I was a chaperone for the Environmental Learning program – we’d hike from the school down to Mann’s Pond in different seasons to note the changes in the environment – ice on the rocks and reeds, buds starting to sprout on the trees.  Mainly, the boys splashed each other, ran off in 80 directions, fished for tadpoles and crawfish, and tried to grap the rope swing to jump into Massapoag Brook.  Very green after all the rains, and high water.
