Paul’s Bridge, Blue Hills Reservation, 10-16-11

Paul’s Bridge is the 2nd oldest bridge of its type in the country, and it’s at the corner of Brush Hill Rd & Neposet Valley Parkway on the border of Hyde Park & Milton. The Neponset River flows under it on its way to Boston. This corner of the Blue Hills Reservation covers Fowl Meadow, which extends all the way to I-95 (Route 128) in Canton.

Took Mom for a stroll and a picnic lunch on a perfect crisp fall day. Six parking spaces, all full – the area was new to us, but there were plenty of hikers and dog-walkers. Like maybe 8 other people. You can hear the road, but it’s like another world.
