Leaving Quebec – Parc National de la Jacques Cartier

Checked out of hotel and drove north about 30 miltes to Pac National de la Jacques Cartier. Beautiful national park with a river valley  in the midst of rolling hills. More scenic than provicial park Mauricie. Hiked up Les Loups trail (wolf? bass?), to an wooden observation deck for views of the river and hills beyond. Much of the way the trail follows a snowshoe route. Nearly 3 hour round trip hike. Saw chipmunks, frogs, birds. No moose.

Back south, heading to Maine – SO much traffic and gridlock to pass Quebec city again. Crossed the border around 6:00 pm, stopped in Jackman, ME to fill the tank, buy sandwiches for dinner in the car. Reached Augusta for bed.
