Sedona – Slide Rock Park

We approached Sedona from the north, through Oak Creek Canyon, and stopped at Slide Rock State Park – a natural waterslide that’s a popular swimming spot in the summer.  The water is blue and frigid, the canyon and slide rocks are red, the surrounding trees green, the views are just beautiful. And it was only a tease of what we’d see in Sedona.

We checked in to Desert Quail Inn in the Village of Oak Creek, south of downtown Sedona’s busiest section. Wonderful room, with a sitting area with recliners, corner jacuzzi, gas fireplace, microwave, fridge – and only $109/night! Such a deal – and such a treat for the feet after hiking!
