Hudson Valley, NY March 15-17,2013

Quick getaway to the Hyde Park, NY area. I-90 to the Taconic Pkwy to Poughkeepsie. Toured the Art Museum at Vassar College, the first college in the country to have its own art museum. Nice selection with some ancient, some modern – Picasso, Rothko, Lichtenstein, Warhol.

Then to Locust Grove the home of artist & telegraph inventor Samuel B. Morse. Nice grounds for hiking.

Then reached the InnTheWoods Bed & Breakfast – modern architecture, almost Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style. Very comfy, yummy food, gracious hosts.

Dinner at American Bounty, one of the restaurants at the Culinary Institute of America. Even got a tour of the kitchen and the rolling pin display.
