Boulder, CO – May 2014 – Flatirons

Back to Boulder for Naropa University Graduation! Drove up Flagstaff Mountain into the Flatirons,  flat rock slabs over Boulder, with lots of rock.-climbers. You can see the Flatirons from this webcam. Steep, windy road, with nice overlooks. At the top you’ll find Artist Point at one end and the Sunrise Circle Amphitheater, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1934. Beautiful! Then down to rest, dinner, and a program with graduating students’ Warrior Challenge presentation (a mindfulness-infused approach to a thesis defense). Surprised to find a raccoon peeking out of the drainage grate on the way into Naropa’s Lincoln Building (across the green from the Allen Ginsberg Library). Click on a photo for full-size view – it’s worth it!
