Canton Airport Park, 8/17/14

Visited the new Farnham Connolly State Park, on the site of the old Canton Airport, in the wetlands near the Neponset River. Flat, easy trails, with lots of cattails and milkweed. We took an overgrown path to a deadend where we could see glimpses of the Neponset through the thick trees, but it’s New England – “ya can’t get they-ah from he-ah.” There are plans to eventually develop an underpass under I-95 so you can get to the river’s edge, eventually. But not yet.  Off Neponset St., Canton, just east of I-95.
