Moose Hill Audubon Sanctuary, 12/24/16

Moose Hill is always great for a short stroll, no matter how cold.  Even a tree trunk is wearing a sweater:


Is that called a “tree cozy?”


They’re building a natural-materials playground. This is the Snake Walk:


As Winter settles in, they’re busy preparing for maple-sugaring season, stockpiling wood for boiling off the maple sap:


The boardwalk had ice around it, but not snow/ice covered yet:

The trails are still leaf-covered:


The 200+ year-old maple trees nicknamed George & Martha, since the trees were here during Washingtons’ lifetimes, near Billings Barn.
