Blue Hills Reservation, 9/26/10
Patriots playing today – better head away from Gillette Stadium to hike and avoid the traffic. Parked along Route 28, Milton/Randolph and hiked in along the Sky Line Trail (blue blazes) to the summit of Chicatawbut Hill. VERY steep, scrambling over rock slope, hands over feet, looking for a foothold at times. Had to toss the hiking sticks up the slope, and hold onto any crags we could find. A lot of nice, open overlooks – view of the Blue Hill Observatory from one, pond from another.
