We hiked the lovely 1.3 mile Lichen Loop Trail at Heil Valley Ranch up off Lefthand Canyon Drive, north of Boulder, on 10/11/2020. On 10/17/2020, the CalWood wildfire burned through the area, taking out 5,000 acres in just 5 hours, and 10,000 acres total by the time it was stopped. Most of the area is still closed, due to hazardous conditions 3 months later. Easy trail, with mountain views, prickly pear cactus, and lots of deer.
